Your Ocean Free day commences with check-in at the Ocean Free / Ocean Freedom desk inside Cairns’ Reef Fleet Terminal from 7.15am. From there it’s a short stroll along the marina to Ocean Free. Boarding commences at 7.30am for an 8am departure. Enjoy fresh tea, coffee, fruit and Danish pastries, which are served on board on your arrival.

You can assist with the hoisting of the sails. After an introductory safety brief, just kick back and enjoy the motor sail to Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef. For those of you wishing to scuba dive, the paperwork and briefs are completed during the journey out, so when we arrive at The Great Barrier Reef you are ready to dive!

Once sails are dropped we meander through the reef to our private mooring at Pinnacle Reef, with Green Island just 1Km away. This is all you’ve ever dreamed of in a tropical paradise! The boat is greeted by schools of spangled emperors, yellow tailed fusiliers, parrot fish and giant trevally. The Great Barrier Reef is just below.

Once briefed on the water activities, your adventures begin! You can snorkel directly off the boat, floating over coral gardens. Or try introductory diving for the first time. No experience needed and it’s 2 divers for 1 instructor. Certified divers can enjoy a guided dive. All equipment is included and provided. After all the action, you feast on a delicious smorgasbord lunch.

In the afternoon transfers to Green Island begin – look out for turtles on the way! Wander along the beautiful white beach and walk around the island to view the bird life and vegetation. There’s interpretive boardwalks through the rainforest and you can visit Marineland Melanesia (where you can see a croc feed in captivity!). Grab an ice-cream or cocktail and relax in paradise.

After over 4 ½ hours on the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island we set sail for Cairns (wind permitting). Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine with your tropical afternoon tea (fruit, cheese & cake), a perfect finale to a day of snorkeling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef. We arrive back to Cairns around 5pm with the sun setting in the hills behind Cairns. Beautiful.
