I was on the ocean freedom boat today for some snorkeling and my first diving. It was absolutely great ! I saw so many fish and corals, even a stinray and a turtle !!!All the staff is amazing, wow ! Thanks to Melodie, Charlotte, Maddy and Paul for being so nice and helpful !I definitely recommend Ocean freedom!!!

We are not experienced snorkelers and they made us feel very safe throughout the whole journey. The snorkeling spots were incredible, and we saw some amazing marine life. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful locations for snorkelling, food was fresh, delicious and plentiful! The boat was really tidy & I was in awe of how well the crew worked as a great team! This was such an amazing trip I’m struggling to find enough vocab to describe it. From the moment we booked to boarding the yacht, sailing out to the reef (breakfast on route) then getting a couple of hours snorkelling in before lunch. The weather was perfect on Monday 2nd September. Visibility was stunning. We chose the assisted dive. Glad we did. Swimming with a turtle 5m beneath the surface is other worldly. We had a brief excursion to Green Island and sat on the beach enjoying the sun for about an hour - but soon decided we’d catch the next tender back to the dive boat and carry on snorkelling. When it was finally time to weigh anchor and hoist the sales for the return to Cairns the crew brought us wine and cheese for the journey home. A totally unforgettable experience. Perfectly planned by a company who really know how to look after people. I cannot recommend highly enough.

This was a one-of-kind seafaring adventure! Amazing crew and fantastic lunch served whist diving and island visiting. Shout out to Charlie our dive master and guide - not only did she go above and beyond to make us feel relaxed but she provided great insight on our diving route and the different species we saw! Would book again in a heartbeat!

Ocean free provided a wonderful snorkel and first dive experience - our dive instructor Molly was extremely patient and calming as we got underwater and made sure we saw lots of interesting reef life while down. The food was decent and definitely more than enough to satiate after swimming. Even though we went on a low wind day they still cut the engine and hoisted the sail for a bit to get that lovely connection with the wind and the waves. All of the team are knowledgeable and friendly, couldn’t have spent a better day in Cairns!

We had the best experience with these guys last week. Really looked after us, great snorkelling and saw lots of fish, reef shark and a turtle. Group size was 14 so such a nice small number and great vibe provided by the staff. I would highly recommend a day on the water with Ocean Free.

Everything about the cruise on Ocean Freedom exceeded my expectations, I would highly recommend you do this cruise to do some world class snorkelling and diving. The sites on the reef were spectacular to see, and the crew were willing to go above and beyond to make it memorable.

Hicimos un tour con ellos al Outer Reef y la experiencia fue genial. El barco es amplio, estable y cómodo, tienen crema solar, pastillas antimareo, te dan desayuno, comida, merienda.. Pudimos hacer snorkel en dos lugares diferentes y ver un montón de corales y peces. El tour está montado de manera que pasas mucho rato en el agua si quieres y también puedes ver los corales desde un barquito con fondo de cristal. Había muchos monitores en el barco asegurándose que todo iba bien y fueron super pacientes y amables con la gente que se sentía insegura en el agua, especialmente con los niños. Recomendable al 100%!

scuba dive was worth it, plenty of fish including Nemo you won't see snorkelling

I recently did a Reef tour down at Hamilton Island as my first on the GBR and had a great time.
A trip to Cairns (Palm Cove) meant another trip was due!
Ocean Freedom was recommended to us due to the smaller capacity and attention to detail by people at Palm Cove.
It was an amazing day out. A very full day, 2 reefs, well fed and normally I’d just do my own thing in the water, but opted for the glass bottom boat tour and guided snorkel while there and it was great. As little or as much time as you can handle in the water. Excellent reefs, Green Sea Turtles and Manta Rays were spotted by our family.
Highly recommended for your trip to the reef. Very kid friendly also and all provided equipment was top notch.

We had a wonderful experience sailing on the Ocean Free boat to Great Barrier Reef where we snorkelled and our daughter had her first experience diving. The diving instructor gave great instruction and had a genuine care for his clients and the skipper and crew were focused on giving us the best experience possible. would highly recommend.

We had the best day. The crew on board were fantastic. The spot they moored off Green Island was so close to the reef you could almost stand on it. Snorkeling and diving was brilliant. Lunch on board is very impressive. We met some lovely people from all over the world. Sailing back at under full sail with a lovely glass of wine was exhilarating and exciting. Thanks to all the staff and crew. You made the day for us so easy from booking to leaving. We didn’t want to leave.

We went on this reef cruise today and it was fantastic! The guides were incredible and the food was great- and there was loads of it! We went on a different snorkeling trip yesterday to Green Island and it was nothing compared to Ocean Freedom. The guides were in the water with us showing us all the fish and marine life. Definitely skip Green Island and go with Ocean Freedom!!!!

My wife, daughter and myself went out on Ocean Freedom on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. A great day - the Captain and crew were unbelievably helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. Once at the reef a guided glass bottom boat trip then onto with the snorkelling or SCUBA if you wanted. The food was high quality and heaps for everyone. When you thought it was over out came the cheese and biscuits followed by cake. I’ve been on a number of boat tours around the world and this is by far the best. It is highly recommend. Lastly a shout out to crewman Tom who was very patience with my wife and helped her snorkelling experience.

Perfect day out visiting two of the nearby reefs. The crew are extremely warm, welcoming and a great laugh helping you be at ease wether if it’s your first time snorkelling/diving or somebody used to the ocean. I did my first (and 2nd) ever scuba dive guided by these guys today and it couldn’t have been any better! Will definitely go with these guys again next time I find myself in Cairns. Thank you!

Snorkelling was amazing and I learnt a little about the Great Barrier Reef on the Glass Bottom Boat tour. Hope to do this tour again and hopefully try diving next time.
