Amazing trip! Myself and my friends are travelling the east coast the last 3 weeks and all agreed this was our favourite tour overall.The staff were so friendly, experienced, and great at their jobs. We were well fed too throughout the day so that made us very happy.Special mention to our scuba instructor Sara. I was terrified to scuba dive and she put me at such ease throughout. So happy she was my instructor and I did it. Thanks a mill Sara.Will recommend this trip to all my friends.

The staff on Ocean Freedom were fantastic. I did the introductory scuba and they were so kind and understanding during the entire day. I was very anxious but determined and the crew helped me get comfortable. I wish I remembered everyone’s name. Paul was my diving instructor and he gently and kindly guided me through my entire Scuba experience. I watched as the crew made sure to take care of each diver and snorkeler and gave them personal attention based on their comfort level. Sarah did such a great job taking out smaller kids and guiding them through their experience.The boat is huge and has lots of space for everyone, inside or outside. All the equipment was great. Both stops were fantastic and you see tons of diverse reef and aquatic life. You get loads of time at both sites. The glass bottom boat was a fun way to get things started. Lunch was delicious and there was plenty for 2-3 rounds of food. Fruit, cheeses and desserts on the way back in. I’ve snorkelled in Hawaii, Galapagos and Thailand…but this was the best experience by far. Best crew, boat and absolutely nothing compares to the Great Barrier Reef 🪸

Stunning morning aboard Ocean free with awesome crew. Pascal was a very good skip, navigating rain weather in the smoothest fashion and also injecting bits of his own humour into our safety talks which really make them stick in my mind. Tom stood out above the others as an exemplary member of the crew, he was attentive, passionate and very professional in his manner. From when we first boarded he was smiles and jokes until we landed back in cairns, his hard work on the ship and eagerness to tend to guests really made this trip stand out for us. His knowledge of marine life on the reef and personal humour made this tour really worth the visit to Australia! Love from London! Thanks Tom!

It was a great experience to be on board of Ocean Freedom to explore the hidden treasures of the Great Reef and to complete my first ever diving session! From the very starting point of the booking procedure through boarding and finally introducing the Great Reef, everything was simply perfect. Great crew - special thanks to Sara and Pascal, you made my day, really. Wonderful buffet lunch and snacks throughout the whole adventure. Lovely snorkeling /diving spots - silent and secluded where one can feel the ocean at its best. Nature is Everywhere, Here it is Amazing...What extraordinary is the vivid Reef underwater, a world benith the Sea! Turtles, Baby Shark, colourfull fishes, corels.... Our favorite Nemo! We enjoyed the ocean thru oceanfree. Advance booking and food preference is always better. We went out on the Ocean Free today and had the absolute best time! We can’t say enough wonderful things about the experience and the crew! The private snorkeling/diving spot off of Green Island allowed us to see fish, sharks, turtles and corals. It was amazing! We had a great time getting to know the others on the boat and would recommend this experience to everyone!

The crew on this tour is just amazing! Very helpful and kind. The snorkeling guides never said no to my family to take them out as many times as they asked for! Special thanks to Sarah, Mike and T! They knew the right spots and we even spotted Nemo and the turtles! They are simply marvelous and the skipper is just the top bloke! I highly recommend this company for their family friendly tours. Much better than the large tycoons!

We had a group of 9, including a 13, 10, 5 and 2 yr old. 3 of us did a dive and the rest of us snorkeled on the reef. The team was amazing, helpful and kept us entertained and informed when we had questions. We chose the Sailboat tour so the kids could enjoy the beach and sand, we weren't disappointed. Sailing part of the way home was so cool also. Top marks for the team.

Overall, a really great experience.We booked the Ocean Freedom for snorkeling but there were people who were also scuba diving.The boat, if I remember correctly, had a max capacity of roughly 150. Our day was about half full with 65 people.The whole process seemed very organized. It ran on-time, they provided wet suits, snorkel gear and everything you could imagine.They provided safety tips and rules to make everyone feel comfortable. There was never a time where I thought “what am I supposed to be doing right now?”The staff is incredible and they make the whole trip. There to help and guide you but also protect you. I don’t love being in the open ocean but I never felt concerned with the crew.This doesn’t even reflect on the reef itself with is incredible and home to many types of sea life. We saw a sea turtle which was the highlight of the trip.

We did the snorkelling tour to the Great Barrier Reef including introductory dive. It was a great experience! The staff is really kind and funny, and has eye for safety. They have a great vibe with each other as well as the guests. The coral was beautiful

I highly recommend this tour to anyone. The boat and equipment is super well maintained, we were feed delicious food from the moment we stepped aboard to the moment we got off and best of all (apart from the two beautiful locations we snorkelled) were the staff. They were all so friendly, well organised, accommodating and knowledgeable, they really made the day. A+++

What a trip! The hospitality was first class, the boat spotless and the food, well we were fed all day long.
I'm a decent enough swimmer but never go out of my depth and to have Mike and Molly guide me when snorkeling whilst keeping me safe and given me the confidence all day, I had the trip of a lifetime! The reef was spectacular, the teams knowledge and expertise was second to none. Never mind seeing so many fish, star fish and the turtle. Would recommend this trip with Ocean Freedom without hesitation. Thank you so much Mike and Molly.

Yaya and the Mikes were amazing!

Very helpful and had confident answers for all our questions and issues. Beginner scuba class was easy to learn and even more enjoyable in the water.

Lots of fish, turtles and sharks on the dives - very knowledgeable.

Loads of time in the water and options to spend your time either on the island or half and half with more snorkle time.

Journey home and dance party topped off the trip. Will come back again with more friends next trip in the future.

scuba dive was worth it, plenty of fish including Nemo you won't see snorkelling

I recently did a Reef tour down at Hamilton Island as my first on the GBR and had a great time.

A trip to Cairns (Palm Cove) meant another trip was due!

Ocean Freedom was recommended to us due to the smaller capacity and attention to detail by people at Palm Cove.

It was an amazing day out. A very full day, 2 reefs, well fed and normally I’d just do my own thing in the water, but opted for the glass bottom boat tour and guided snorkel while there and it was great. As little or as much time as you can handle in the water. Excellent reefs, Green Sea Turtles and Manta Rays were spotted by our family.

Highly recommended for your trip to the reef. Very kid friendly also and all provided equipment was top notch.

We had a wonderful experience sailing on the Ocean Free boat to Great Barrier Reef where we snorkelled and our daughter had her first experience diving. The diving instructor gave great instruction and had a genuine care for his clients and the skipper and crew were focused on giving us the best experience possible.

We had the best day. The crew on board were fantastic. The spot they moored off Green Island was so close to the reef you could almost stand on it. Snorkeling and diving was brilliant. Lunch on board is very impressive. We met some lovely people from all over the world. Sailing back at under full sail with a lovely glass of wine was exhilarating and exciting. Thanks to all the staff and crew. You made the day for us so easy from booking to leaving. We didn’t want to leave.

We went on this reef cruise today and it was fantastic! The guides were incredible and the food was great- and there was loads of it! We went on a different snorkeling trip yesterday to Green Island and it was nothing compared to Ocean Freedom. The guides were in the water with us showing us all the fish and marine life. Definitely skip Green Island and go with Ocean Freedom!!!!

My wife, daughter and myself went out on Ocean Freedom on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. A great day - the Captain and crew were unbelievably helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. Once at the reef a guided glass bottom boat trip then onto with the snorkelling or SCUBA if you wanted. The food was high quality and heaps for everyone. When you thought it was over out came the cheese and biscuits followed by cake. I’ve been on a number of boat tours around the world and this is by far the best. It is highly recommend. Lastly a shout out to crewman Tom who was very patience with my wife and helped her snorkelling experience.

Perfect day out visiting two of the nearby reefs.
The crew are extremely warm, welcoming and a great laugh helping you be at ease wether if it’s your first time snorkelling/diving or somebody used to the ocean.
I did my first (and 2nd) ever scuba dive guided by these guys today and it couldn’t have been any better!
Will definitely go with these guys again next time I find myself in Cairns. Thank you!
