Absolutely recommend Ocean Freedom if you are looking for a snorkel/diving trip at the great barrier reef.Everything worked so well with this operator and their staff was really friendly and looked after us so well.The ocean was pretty rough when we went on the trip but the crew gave their best to still show us a lot of fishes and sea turtles.Big thank you for this amazing crew and experience.

The trip started with pastries in the lower deck and ended with cakes being served right at where we sat, mix in between exploring and enjoying the Great Barrier Reef, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World!The crew pays attention to the needs of people, from guiding non-swimmer to enjoy the reef to leading strong swimmers to more exciting locations, one thing we can all feel, was the care of safety of everyone and the surrounding environment.It’s a smaller boat, which means that the crew member to the passengers ratio is greater! Good news to all of us😆!The Wonder Wall of the Upolu Reef was fun and the waters are calm, which means you can really enjoy the snorkeling experience.On the way back, it was one surprise after another, started out with the fruits, then the cheese and crackers and finally a the cakes.Did I mention the lunch?Anyway, you are here for the reef experience, which is awesome, and all these food are just cherry on the top!Great job Ocean Freedom!And BTW, Happy Birthday to our Captain, Ryan, on the day we participated!Only downside, a group of people who are not considerate and occupied the stern as if they own it!Everything else was great!

Great experience with Ocean Freedom. The Upolu reef was stunning and filled with a lot of diverse fish and coral. The glass bottom boat was led us to see some sea turtles and sharks. The crew was knowledgeable and very sweet. Kelly especially helped us with our first dive and made us feel comfortable (highly recommend diving!!). They treated us to a good lunch and lots of snacks.

We had a full day on the water going to Upolu reef, snorkeling. Staff were excellent and made the trip fun for myself and my older teenagers. Saw tons of corals and fish and three sea turtles including one that swam within inches of my daughter. All in all, a great trip.

What a fantastic day put on the reef with an amazing crew. They were full of knowledge and fun and made it a great experience. And what an amazing feast we had with tons of snacks. Don't even bother looking anywhere else for snorkeling or dive tours. Your journey stops here but begins on the boat.

Where do I even begin! I was honestly a bit nervous for this day because of my fear of the ocean and my tendency to get seasick but I was definitely not prepared for what was coming. This day ended up becoming the highlight of my trip with my husband and the most beautiful, special experience of my life, all thanks to the incredible Ocean Freedom team. We took this tour on the 2nd of November and every single member was so involved in making sure everyone had the best experience. Honestly, the most amazing crew ever.A special shoutout to Reece — for someone like me who can’t even dip her face into a 3-ft deep pool, he somehow made me feel calm, safe, and confident enough to snorkel in the middle of the ocean. Because of him, I got to experience a world I never thought I’d be brave enough to see. Had the best diving experience two days in a row and coming back for more. I see something new each time. Such a professional operation. What a trip! The hospitality was first class, the boat spotless and the food, well we were fed all day long. I'm a decent enough swimmer but never go out of my depth and to have Mike and Molly guide me when snorkeling whilst keeping me safe and given me the confidence all day, I had the trip of a lifetime! The reef was spectacular, the teams knowledge and expertise was second to none. Never mind seeing so many fish, star fish and the turtle. I recently did a Reef tour down at Hamilton Island as my first on the GBR and had a great time.
A trip to Cairns (Palm Cove) meant another trip was due!
Ocean Freedom was recommended to us due to the smaller capacity and attention to detail by people at Palm Cove.
It was an amazing day out. A very full day, 2 reefs, well fed and normally I’d just do my own thing in the water, but opted for the glass bottom boat tour and guided snorkel while there and it was great. As little or as much time as you can handle in the water. Excellent reefs, Green Sea Turtles and Manta Rays were spotted by our family.
Highly recommended for your trip to the reef. Very kid friendly also and all provided equipment was top notch.

We had the best day. The crew on board were fantastic. The spot they moored off Green Island was so close to the reef you could almost stand on it. Snorkeling and diving was brilliant. Lunch on board is very impressive. We met some lovely people from all over the world. Sailing back at under full sail with a lovely glass of wine was exhilarating and exciting. Thanks to all the staff and crew. You made the day for us so easy from booking to leaving. We didn’t want to leave.

We went on this reef cruise today and it was fantastic! The guides were incredible and the food was great- and there was loads of it! We went on a different snorkeling trip yesterday to Green Island and it was nothing compared to Ocean Freedom. The guides were in the water with us showing us all the fish and marine life. Definitely skip Green Island and go with Ocean Freedom!!!!

My wife, daughter and myself went out on Ocean Freedom on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. A great day - the Captain and crew were unbelievably helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. Once at the reef a guided glass bottom boat trip then onto with the snorkelling or SCUBA if you wanted. The food was high quality and heaps for everyone. When you thought it was over out came the cheese and biscuits followed by cake. I’ve been on a number of boat tours around the world and this is by far the best. It is highly recommend. Lastly a shout out to crewman Tom who was very patience with my wife and helped her snorkelling experience.

Perfect day out visiting two of the nearby reefs. The crew are extremely warm, welcoming and a great laugh helping you be at ease wether if it’s your first time snorkelling/diving or somebody used to the ocean.
